A Welcome to Other Christians and Visitors
In writing this page, we wanted, to give a warm welcome to any person who is interested in being associated with us, yet has no background in, or links to this kind of religious movement. There is a genuine sense in which what we are doing is new to most of us, in one way or another. The restoration of the Hebrew “aspect” or “perspective” in modern Christian life is relatively new to almost everyone. So, please do not feel reticent, inadequately prepared, or too much of a stranger to religious things. This is a fresh starting point for everyone who wants to get on board!
Our activities will introduce you gently and with time to absorb the spiritual treasures of several thousand years. All of this in the context of family hospitality and friendliness. In fact, when you take a look at our model of service, you will discover that our first efforts go towards promoting hospitality, caring and belonging. This is the Biblical Jewish-Christian model.
For us it is vital to look upon one another as family: Family of God actually. This is no sentimental or artificial “marketing ploy”. It starts with our Lord’s fundamental teaching on which His members will love God with everything they’ve got, and their fellow humans as themselves. Why? We are to love, as our neighbour, all who have been created in the image and likeness of God. It is not negotiable! This is how Jesus put it:
Foundation of the Teaching of Jesus
The first Commandment is:
‘‘ ‘Hear, O Israel! The LORD our God, is LORD alone!
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with
(Deuteronomy 6: 4.) (Leviticus 19: 18.) (Matthew 22: 39 — 41) (Mark 12: 29 — 31)
So on that basis we open our Fellowship to all people of goodwill who wish to join us in our great project. For more about that, read the brief summary in, “Our Messianic Charism”, and then our leaflet “Family of God Fellowship”.
Do browse through our articles and explore our range of materials.
For the person who “has heard all sorts of things about Jews and about Catholics,” we invite you to relax and allow yourself the opportunity to “come and see”. (John 1: 46)
Our offer to anyone interested is to share with you our whole spiritual and religious culture on the understanding that you accept: we are all learning together as we rediscover our Judaeo-Christian heritage. A feature, therefore, of this Fellowship is that we learn how to help one another make the journey together as we rebuild this beautiful partnership.
Welcome and Shalom!
